About Our Church

Friends In Faith Church is a non-denominational, non-affiliated Christian, Gospel based Church.  All who wish to find and to accept, or who have accepted Jesus Christ as their personal Savior are welcome.  Baptism is accomplished in one of two ways; by full emersion or by sprinkling.  The choice is yours.  If you wish for your children to be Baptized as babies, you must provide Christian sponsors (God Parents) to agree to take responsibility for the childs spiritual upbringing in the event that the parents are unable.
Communion may be had by all Baptized persons who live a life of repentance and remmission of sins and are in keeping with God's Commandments to the best of their abilities.

Statement of Beliefs

STATEMENT OF FAITH

Know All Men By These Presents - That Friends In Faith Church;

Believes that the Bible is God's Holy Word, verbally and fully inspired in the original text, and that it is the supreme authority in all matters of faith and conduct.

Believes that there is one God, eternally existent in three persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit.

Believes in God the Father, perfect in holiness, infinite in wisdom, measureless in power. We believe that He concerns Himself mercifully in the affairs of men, that He hears and answers prayer, and that He saves from sin and death all who come to Him through Christ.

Believes in Jesus Christ, the divine, eternal and only begotten Son of God. We believe that in His earthly life He was conceived of the Holy Spirit, born of the virgin and lived a sinless life. We believe in His vicarious and atoning death for the sins of the world. We believe in His bodily resurrection from the dead, His ascension to the right hand of the Father to make intercession for the saints, and in His personal, visible return to the world in power and glory.

Believes in the Holy Spirit, in His personality and deity, that He was sent forth from the Father to convince the world of sin, of righteousness and of judgment. We believe that He is come to regenerate, indwell, sanctify, instruct and comfort the saints.

Believes that all men are, by nature and by choice, sinners, destitute of all power to save themselves. We believe, therefore, that the only means of salvation of sinful men is the regenerating work of the Holy Spirit on the basis of the atoning work of Christ through personal faith in Christ. We believe in the resurrection of all men, those that are lost unto the resurrection of eternal damnation.

Believes in the Church --- the living spiritual body of which Jesus Christ is the Head and of which all regenerated persons are members. We believe that the Lord laid upon the Church the task of persuading a lost and sinful world to accept Jesus Christ as Savior and to enthrone Him as Lord and Master in their lives.

Believes that all Christians are ordained by the Holy Spirit to spread the Gospel of Christ.

Believes in all gifts of the Holy Spirit.

Believes it is the primary duty of all Christians to serve as evangelists, and to minister to others according to the gifts they have received of the Holy Spirit.

Believes that the Love of Our Lord Jesus Christ is the greatest gift of God the Father and His Holy Spirit, and should be the primary message of the Christian church, taking precedence over all differences, whether they be theological, denominational, ideological, or physical in nature.

The 12 Core Beliefs of the FRIENDS IN FAITH Church:

1. The Trinity: We believe in one God who exists in three Persons: Father, Son, and Holy Spirit (Matthew 28:19).
2. God the Creator: We believe God created and sustains the universe by His power (Genesis 1:1).

3. God’s Nature: We believe God in His fundamental nature is Spirit; He is eternal and all-powerful. Most importantly He is holy and He is love (John 4:24, 1 Timothy 1:17, Jeremiah 32:17, Leviticus 19:2, 1 John 4:7-8).
4. Jesus Christ both God and Human: We believe Jesus Christ is fully God and fully human (John 1:1, 14).
5. The Holy Spirit as Jesus’ Presence with Us: We believe the moment we receive Jesus as Lord He lives in us in the Person of the Holy Spirit (Romans 8:9-11).
6. The Authority of the Bible: We believe the Bible is God’s Word and the final authority in faith and life for us as individuals and for the church (2 Timothy 3:16-17).
7. Human Nature: We believe God created people in His image and all have worth, but human beings sin and are thereby separated from God (Genesis 1:26-27, Romans 3:23).
8. Salvation: We believe that a person comes into a right relationship with God by faith in Jesus Christ alone solely by God’s grace (Ephesians 2:8-9).
9. The Church: We believe that the church is God’s chosen people and Jesus’ body on earth (1 Peter 2:9-10, Romans 12:4-5).
10. The Sacraments: We believe that Baptism and the Communion are Jesus’ visible signs to us of His grace (Acts 2:38-39, 1 Corinthians 11:23-26), and that Marriage is a Sacrament from God as a uniting of One Man and One Woman only (Gen 2:21-25).
11. Spiritual Gifts: We believe each believer has received spiritual gifts from the Holy Spirit and is responsible to use those gifts in service to the church (1 Corinthians 12:4-11).
12. Jesus’ Return: We believe Jesus Christ will return to earth soon to judge the world and usher in the Kingdom of God in all its fullness (Hebrews 9:27-28).

Church History

Formed on May 22, 2005,  First Pastor, Rev. Dr. Jim Phifer.  First Gov. Board Chair, Jeanette Jones.

Dr. Phifer resigned for medical reasons on March 11, 2006.  Chaplain Allen Lambert became interim Pastor on March 11, 2006 and permanent Pastor on June 11, 2006.
Our little Church has gone through many trials and tribulations since it's forming, but through the help of God and fierce determination has remained intact as a body of worshippers.
At it's inception FIFC had as many as 100+ members.  Through mistakes of of our own and choices made by differing members we effectively lost over 50 members.  Through diligent efforts of the Congregation and Pastor we have started to grow and now show 52 members with 35 active.
We still meet temporarily in the Sanctuary of the 7th Day Adventists, but have plans to build a Church Building of our own.  All we need is Money, which we believe the Lord will provide in His own time.
Anyone wishing to make a donation to the Church Building Fund or an endowment to the Church. feel free to contact the Church Treasurer, Leon Franklin lfrank@wmnv.net or Pastor Lambert revalamb@iwon.com .  All donations are greatly appreciated.
